The Brigades Integrated Risk Management Plan regarding Windsor Fire Station has been changed yet again. The last proposed date for the night closure was December 2010.
However, in a recent edition of the Brigades magazine entitled, ‘The Shout’, an item about Wokingham Fire Station was published. This states, ’With draft plans in place for the new community fire station and planning permission currently in progress, it is expected that construction will begin in the latter part of 2010.’ (Our emphasis) The Brigade proposes to use the night crews from Windsor to bolster Wokingham Fire Station who currently only crew during the day.
We trust that the future Brigade reviews into the Retained Service Viability, Heritage Buildings and the Wokingham shift pattern will have been concluded and acted upon since they will have ramifications regarding the retention of 24 hour cover at Windsor?
Furthermore, albeit rumour, we trust that there will be no bombastic managerial measures to close Windsor at night, ahead of any the above?
