This is why we need a 24/7 Fire Station

As usual, the following represent only a selection of incidents attended by Windsor Fire crews. Please note the valuable contribution that the Windsor pump provides within east Berkshire.

28 November at approx 16-45 hours. The Meads, Green Lane, Windsor. 2 persons released from lift.

29 November at 01-34 hours. Hale, Sawyers Close, Windsor. Arson in lobby of high rise building.

29 November at 02-34 hours. Royal Windsor Shopping Centre. Alarms operating.

01 December at 09-02 hours. Manor Road, Windsor. Child locked inside vehicle.

01December at 16-36 hours. Rochford Gardens, Slough. Property fire.

03 December at 02-29 hours. Stroud Farm Road, Holyport. Hay bales. Make pumps 4.

03 December at 19-55 hours. Bagshot Road, Bracknell. Road traffic collision.

04 December at 00-03 hours. Hale, Sawyers Close, Windsor. Arson within refuse storage area.

04 December at 17-06 hours. Lascelles Road, Slough. Road traffic collision.

06 December at 13-58 hours. Rectory Close, Bracknell. Roof fire.

07 December at 05-00 hours. Broadleas, Sawyers Close, Windsor. Man rescued from suicide attempt.

If we scrutinise the road traffic collision in Lascelles Road, Slough, it is an obvious example of why the plan to close Windsor is fundamentally flawed. The reason the Windsor pump attended was because Slough fire crews were not available. Yet Slough Fire Station is supposed to be covering Windsor in the future-if the night closure proposal is implemented?
