The Observer Midweek, reports that the call rates for night shifts have significantly increased at Windsor Fire Station. They rose from 382 in the period 2007-08 to 573 in 2008-09.

At 02-07 hours on 20 April, the Windsor crew was called to alarms operating at King Edward Hospital in Windsor. Despite the valuable resources of the NHS being in potential danger only one appliance was mobilised. The appliance was at the scene within ONE minute.

On the 14th April at 10-27 hours one Windsor resident had a dangerous encounter with fire.
The dishwasher at his home in Dedworth Road, Windsor caught alight and the property was heavily smoke-logged. The Windsor crew was at the scene within 2 minutes and deployed 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus with a high pressure hose-reel jet. [...]
