The Observer Midweek, reports that the call rates for night shifts have significantly increased at Windsor Fire Station. They rose from 382 in the period 2007-08 to 573 in 2008-09.

Many of us will have recently received a leaflet through our front doors from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. It uses the words ‘efficiency’ and ’savings’ rather a lot.
